Boron (B)

Definition: Boron is a soft, brown nonmetallic element that can be either amorphous or crystalline. Boron is used in flares, propellant mixtures, abrasives and hard metallic alloys.

The name Boron is a combination of borax and carbon.

Boron is classified as a metalloid and is located in group 13 of the Periodic Table of Elements.
